If ONE person is impacted.
At the beginning of this year I shared my first post with the world in my new format of “writing.” Every ounce of me was terrified to put it out there. I came up with so many reasons why it wasn’t worth sharing.
But finally I worked up the courage to puch copy, paste, and post.
If Doubt Stopped Me
Sure enough, people began to resonate and respond.
Within an hour I had several people that were encouraging me and saying that they, too, were inspired by my post. I was so thankful that people could connect with what I had to say.
My doubts made me think that that would never happen. I heard back from people that I haven’t chatted with in years, and got likes from people I didn’t even know I had as “friends” on Facebook.
The real important moment happened a day and a half later.
The Possibility of Making an Impact
It was a Sunday evening before bed. We were winding down and getting ready to sleep when I noticed a message from a friend on Instagram. I saw the short snippet of what it said, as tears began to well in my eyes.
The keywords I noticed were:
- Struggling lately
- Inspired
That was all I needed to see. I almost burst into tears. I felt a “weight” lifted off my shoulders of feeling like what I shared wasn’t worthy or was too self-centered. But this message confirmed all my insecurities were false.
Even if it was just ONE person.
My amazing wife would tell me a couple days before that if I encourage one person – then it was worth it. All of the doubts and fears that accompanied it were irrelevant.
…I completely agreed.
So, I did it. And sure enough – someone I love was inspired from the words I simply typed on my laptop.
That was a big moment for me. That was a sign from the Lord. That moment confirmed that what what we create can be worthwhile.
If I can make an impact, so can you.
YOUR STORY MATTERS, AND NEEDS TO BE HEARD. PEOPLE ARE WAITING FOR YOUR STORY SPECIFICALLY.
Please share it. Someone is hoping for that encouragement.
